This piece was painted as an earlier study before moving onto the larger final work, mainly to experiment with reflections, movement and how far I could push realism while still keeping the subject slightly abstract as a test. This is what started the melting obsession. 

Melting is how i see this; somewhere between a polished object and something actively dripping in front of you. Working on a smaller scale kept the process fairly loose compared to the final piece, which honestly made it more enjoyable.
