This piece was painted following earlier study. The aim was mainly to experiment with this melting effect that you’ll see more in my abstract experimentations, and how far I could push realism while still keeping the subject slightly abstract as a test. This is what started the melting obsession. 

Melting is how i see this; somewhere between a polished object and something actively dripping in front of you. Working on a the larger piece after the study was rewarding.
