Go check out Stuart’s mission to bring new colours and materials to artists. Using black 2.0 gave the surface an unusually flat, light-absorbing finish and made the reflections feel almost suspended against it. A 3D shape painted in this looks flat, so you can imagine how interesting this is to use. I liked the contrast between the completely matte black and the highly rendered, liquid-looking form in the centre.

One of the earlier pieces where I started leaning more heavily into abstract realism and material studies rather than straightforward observational work.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0803/3845/2822/files/F2433259-7B17-42A0-BFB2-E5DB4B11C151.jpg?v=1779568847
